I have brilliant news, but at the same time it is also very sad. Ernie has given me the chance to work with a team in starting up a new branch of the firm in Scotland. This means I'll be gone for awhile, but I'm excited to live on my own for a bit. Mum's already helped me pick a flat, but you all make sure to watch out for her too, alright?

We saw what happened the last time anyone went on record. Even if we don't use names, you know there is no sure way to keep the Ministry from tracing the source. There needs to be some other plan involved, I imagine. My aunt has good intentions, but she is also innocent. I would like to keep it that way. |

Mr. MacMillan was one of the best men I ever had the pleasure of meeting. He gave me a chance when few others would. I'd even like to see him tell another story about my nappies if it meant another day with him.

It feels strange to be loafing about with nothing to do. Mr. MacMillan has been nice in saying that I can start once I return from Greece. I really think Mum just blackmailed him with some nonsense about students needing a break. Either way, I do appreciate the vacation, but it feels so odd to know that in a few weeks I'll be a real working wizard.

They took practically everything. I didn't have time to really look over the other holidays, but now...I mean little things like his cologne. How is that an artifact of evil? It's like he never even lived here.
I hope I can do a good job for him. Prove that a Nott can take orders and all. Though I suppose that was the problem. He was TOO good at taking orders. |

Professors, I assure you that I'm ready for my NEWTs. Though what the point is, I'm not exactly sure. I'm a bit surprised the Ministry hasn't made some law limiting the use of my magic yet.
Minister Shacklebolt, it seems I violated the terms of your letter. What happens now? Do I lose my right to carry a wand?

I can't let go of this anger and that scares me. Yet, every time I see someone who ganged up on us Draco acting like he actually cares about what the Ministry is doing, I feel my stomach getting sick and I just...I want everyone to know. EVERYONE. It's easy to condemn a thing or some general principle, but it is not so easy to show the mercy necessary for the thing or principle to not exist in the first place. They're no better than those Ministry officials, acting like they do. It nauseates me and I can't help replaying all those comments in my head. Potter was right awful, always picking arguments, even with his so-called friends. And what did I do? I tried to make people like Longbottom feel better. But it's alright to poke at MY friends and...it infuriates me. I don't want to feel this way, but, Salazar in hell, what is WRONG with people? Even ignoring their own blasted friends when they dared to ask them to stop...what is wrong with Ernie? He really thinks he can have both? They ignored his pleas and still he kisses up to them and tries to keep acting like WE can be mates.
I can understand Millicent taking a random shot and that scares me so much. But I can. I can understand the want to just fly off the handle and hex the first bloody person I see. Why shouldn't I? Maybe Draco and Pansy had a point all these years. Maybe I was bloody naive.
The minute their ideals are questioned, I lose everything. I can't do it again. I can't. I don't care if that means I have to ignore how much I miss Hannah or if I have to fail DADA or lose Ernie all over. I refuse to give myself to them just because they took part in a war. I refuse.

Four months.
Can the Ministry enforce laws over wizards living in the muggle world? If they choose to give up their wand and all? It's a rhetorical question, but I got to wondering when I was thinking on the subject. And are wizards allowed to jump wizarding communities? Say, move to the States? I suppose the Ministry would make any such move difficult, but if one has an ability another Wizarding community might want, it might be alright, don't you think? If that community was willing to stake claim or what have you.
Mandy, maybe your father can answer these questions for me?

I didn't like what the Ministry's been doing, but I held hope given all the changes Hogwarts was going through. I'm an absolute idiot though. Our lot isn't changing a thing. When I leave Hogwarts, I will continue to be penalized and punished for crimes my name and House have been associated with. It's funny. The Ministry's enacted laws against mere children and spouses of known Death Eaters --- what's stopping from the next law being against all Slytherins?
I simply feel badly the Headmistress and Mr. Tonks wasted their efforts.
